A. Anwar Sacca

Born 1932 in Jaffa (Palestine) to a family well known in the Jaffa Citrus Fruits Export business inherited from fathers to sons, Mr. A. Anwar Sacca was provided with the best available scholar and educational background at the famous historical French Catholic Missionary College des Freres des Ecoles Chretiennes (St.Jean Baptiste de la Salle) from where he graduated early 1948.  However, he could neither fulfill his personal wish to study at the Faculty of Medicine in the Columbia University (U.S.A.), nor follow his family’s traditional business, because on the 28th of April 1948 he was forced with his family and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to leave their homeland  and start life in Diaspora.

Mid 1948 till end 1949, Mr. Sacca lived with his family in Gaza about 80kms south of Jaffa waiting for a quick return back home which did not happen! He volunteered with the Quakers (American Friends Service Committee) to serve Palestinian refugees in the Gaza strip, then became Assistant Manager in the QRO (Quakers Registry Office) headed by Ms. Dorothee Hedley.

1950–1956 after moving to Jordan late 1949, Mr. Sacca to earn his family’s life and satisfy his deeply encrusted artistic tendencies, preferred to start his career in Fashionable Ladies’ Textiles business rather than accepting a lucrative senior job with ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia .

1956–1961 Mr. Sacca started his partially owned successful business (Yassin & Sacca Trading Co.) and established fruitful contacts with Prominent Textiles Manufacturers mainly in Western European Countries through extensive traveling.

1961 witnessed the establishment of (A.Anwar Sacca & Co.) Firm as a continuation of same line of business with new departments specializing in Home Fabrics, Decoration Material & Wallpapers up to date.

To achieve regional expansion, and in 1970, a sister Firm (Lotus Trading Co.) was established in Beirut-Lebanon following the same line of business to properly serve the Lebanese local market and other countries in the region through Beirut Duty Free Zone, until Civil War erupted there between 1975 and 1990.

In 1971, and for diversification purposes, Mr. Sacca established (Samco Trading Co.) in Amman – Jordan, a company specialized in Fragrances & Cosmetics business, to become the agent and distributors of worldwide renown brands of Fragrances and Beauty Products such as Estee Lauder, Clinique, Aramis etc…

In 1983, and upon the outstanding graduation of his elder son Ahmad from University of Jordan with First Honor Degree in Computer Science, they established  (Computer Software Centre) to successfully provide local and regional markets with IT services.
